Vintage Sterling Silver Turquoise Ring

$75.00
Vintage Sterling Silver Turquoise Ring-
This turquoise beauty would be a great add for any collector. The turquoise has great color and I love the detail work surrounding the stone. It has roping, granulation, scroll wiring, and a textured leaf and flower like accent. It has a split shank and for the size it has a nice comfortable feel.
It is the traditional birthstone for December and the gemstone for the 11th anniversary. Adored for centuries, Turquoise rocks have been carved and set into everything from royal thrones and daggers to jewelry and cups. The Egyptians believed the Turquoise crystal meaning brought good fortune and made them invulnerable. They carved the stone into symbolic jewelry and statues, such as their scarab pectorals.
Use of the Turquoise meaning dates as far back as 5500 B.C., when it was believed to prevent accidents and cure diseases of the head and the heart. One legend suggests that throwing a piece of Turquoise into a river will bring rain.
The Turquoise crystal meaning was known as a sacred stone to many Native Americans. Medicine men used Turquoise in their healing practices. Often carved into the shape of animals, Turquoise was placed in tombs, believed to guard the dead and invite protective spirits.
